The Moon as Clock

Every civilization that has ever tracked time has tracked the moon. The 29.5-day lunar cycle is the origin of the month itself. Cultures from Babylon to China to the Lakota organized their calendars around its phases. The word “lunatic” comes from luna.

The Eight Phases

  • New Moon — beginnings, setting intentions
  • Waxing Crescent — first commitment, early momentum
  • First Quarter — action, pushing through resistance
  • Waxing Gibbous — refinement, trust the process
  • Full Moon — culmination, clarity, revelation
  • Waning Gibbous — gratitude, sharing
  • Last Quarter — release, letting go
  • Waning Crescent — rest, preparation for the new cycle

How We Use It

Every reading includes real-time lunar data: the current phase, illumination percentage, and what it means for the timing of your question. This is cross-referenced with your natal Moon sign for a personalized lunar reading.
